Brock's North Hill Chapel FAX 785-625-2622Obituary NoticeEdna F. Karlin, age 84, of Hays, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6th at the Hays Good Samaritan Center. She was born on April 14, 1925 in rural Ellis County, Kansas to Frank Jr. and Elizabeth (Windholz) Schmeidler. Edna graduated from Girls Catholic High in 1944. She married Alfred "Fritz" Karlin on May 31, 1948 in Severin, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2003.Edna was a homemaker and Inventory Clerk working at S&W Supply and Warehouse Inc. of Hays. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and Altar Society & Christian Mothers.She is survived by a son, John Karlin of Salina; two daughters, Linda Olson of Kechi and Marge Hofer of Cedar; three brothers, Linus and Kenneth Schmeidler of Hays and Alfred Schmeidler of Great Bend; a sister, Helen Schulte of Russell; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Norbert, Marcellus, Martin, Wendelin and James; and two sisters, Evelyn and Mary. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hays. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday 9:00 A.M. -9:30 A.M.A combined Daughters of Isabella and Altar Society & Christian Mothers rosary service will be at 6:30 P.M. with a parish vigil service at 7:00 P.M. on Friday all at Brock's North Hill Chapel Funeral Home, 2509 Vine, Hays.Memorials are suggested to the Hays Good Samaritan Center or the TMP-Marian Music Department.
