Dorinda Gaschler

Dorinda Gaschler, age 88, of Ellis, passed away Friday, September 24th at the Ellis Good Samaritan Center. She was born on August 8, 1922 in Ness City to John and Anna Mary (Haas) Wasinger. She married Clem Gaschler June 11, 1945 in Ness City. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2010. She was a one-room schoolteacher at Riverside Country School and a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.She is survived by seven sons: Leon of Hutchinson, Dean (Linda) of Kissimee Florida, Wayne (Colleen) of Garden City, and Terry (Pam) of Hays, Rick (Kim), Keith (Sheila), Kent (Dava) of Ellis; two daughters, Sandra Taylor Weatherford, Texas and Brenda Radke of Hays; two brothers, Paul Wasinger and Wilbur Wasinger both of Ness City; four sisters, Rosalinda Gaschler, Vera Pfannenstiel and Joan Van Degrift of Ness City and Pauline Witthuhn of Bazine; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Nick.Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.Visitation will be Sunday 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with a parish wake service at 7:00 P.M. followed by a rosary service all at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of Hays Medical Center, Ellis Good Samaritan Center or St. Mary's Church.
