Dexter Benedict Urban, age 17 of Hays, died Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born on July 2, 1992 in Hoisington, Kansas to Rosalind Kreutzer-Werth and David Urban.

Dexter was a student at Hays High School where he participated in Football, Weight Lifting and Wrestling and was also active in FFA and Boy Scouts. Dexter enjoyed many activities such as Hunting, Fishing and helping with farm work. He was a Pit Crew member of the Wide Open Motorsports Dirt Track Racing Team and he also enjoyed NASCAR. He was a Big with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Hays.

He is survived by his parents, Rosalind and Craig Werth of Hays and David and Debbie Urban of Great Bend; three sisters, Kendra Werth of Hays, Jerica Urban and Jenna Pitchford of Great Bend; two brothers, Josh and Jeremy Pitchford of Great Bend; Grandparents, Frances Urban of Great Bend, Clifford and Nancy Kreutzer of Ellis, Firman and Irene Werth of Ellsworth and Sherry Thouvenelle of Azel, TX.

Dexter was preceded in death by twin brothers, Derreck and Devin Urban; Grandparents, Katherine Zimmerman-Kreutzer, Benedict Urban and a step grandfather, Norman Thouvenelle.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 7th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. on Monday and 8:30 A.M. - 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday all at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays. A parish wake service will be at 6:30 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Dexter Urban Memorial Fund with the designation to be made at a later date.
