Deryl S. Wynn, age 90, of WaKeeney, Kansas, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Trego County Long Term Care in WaKeeney. She was born on August 15, 1933, in Sioux City, Iowa, to loving parents Leonard Daniel and Vera Irene (Thompson) Murphy.


Deryl dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse. She served as the director of nursing at Trego Manor and made a lasting impact as an RN at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital and Long Term Care. Deryl's commitment to her profession touched the lives of countless individuals.


She was a cherished member of the Ogallah Christian Church and actively participated in the Ladies Aide Group and EHU of Ogallah. Deryl's community spirit shone through her involvement in the Ogallah 4-H club. In her leisure time, she found joy in baking and sewing, sharing her talents with family and friends.


Deryl is survived by her loving family, including two sons, Bill (Patty) Wynn of WaKeeney and Tom (Tabitha) Wynn of WaKeeney; three daughters, Peggy Braun of Ogallah, JuLee Wynn of WaKeeney, and Vicki (Dale) Henderson of Ellis; son-in-law, Dave Hafliger of Ogallah; 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren with two more on the way, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carroll Wynn; a daughter, Linda Hafliger; two grandchildren, Diane Renee Henderson and Wayne Michael Braun; a son-in-law, Joe Braun; a sister, Rachelle Murphy; and a brother, Gaylon Murphy.


Private family services will be held, and Deryl will be laid to rest in the Ogallah Cemetery.
