David McKinney

David McKinney, age 70, of Hays, Kansas passed away March 27, 2026 in Hays. He was born July 7, 1955 in Ellis to Chester and Bonnie (Mickelson) McKinney.

David was a roughneck all of his working career. He enjoyed leatherwork and making snakeskin belts. He was a good friend and helpful to many and had a sense of humor even at the end of his life knowing the end was near.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Meyers and husband Clint and their children, Draken and December; two sisters, Pam Ackerman and Carol Jones.

David was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Michael and Everette.

Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 4, 2026 with memorial visitation starting at 1:00 PM all at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock's Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.
