Cody Joseph Johnson, 35, of Hays, KS died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on August 2, 2021, near Hill City, KS.

Cody was born March 21, 1986, in Hays, KS to Kriag Johnson and Jackie Jacobs Eakin. He attended and graduated from Hays High School class of 2004.

He was a friend to all he encountered, and enjoyed time with his family throwing darts, playing pool, and cheering on the Detroit Red Wings. He also enjoyed anything with two wheels, especially motorcycles.

He is survived by his daughter: Emry of Hays; mother and stepfather: Jackie (Shannon) Eakin of Hays; sister: Cassie Johnson of Ellis; grandmas: Darlene Rogers of Hays and Kay VanHouteghen of Waterford, MI; grandpa: Joe Jacobs of Dodge City; and many cherished aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father: Kraig; and grandpa: Charlie Rogers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1805 Vine Street Hays, KS 67601, with Father Nick Parker officiating. Burial will follow the services in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, August 6, 2021, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Brocks-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine Street Hays, KS 67601.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to benefit Emrys education. Please make any/all checks payable to Jackie Eakin in care of the funeral home.
