Obituary



Carol J. Griffith age 84, of Hays, Kansas died Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. She was born November 16, 1936, in Sioux falls, South Dakota to Kenneth D. and Joy (Daely) Moon. She married Tom Griffith, of 63 years, on June 7, 1957, at Prairie Village, Kansas.

She was an international recognized porcelain doll artist in the United States, Europe and Asia. She was a homemaker grew up in the Kansas City area. She was a 1954 graduate of Paseo High School, and moved to Hays in 1991, from Washington. Carol was the consummate fan of the Kansas Jayhawk basketball team, rising in exhalation with them in victory and falling into deep gloom in defeat.

Survivors include her husband, Tom F. Griffith, of the home; two sons, Bryan Griffith, Bothell, WA; Brett Griffith and wife, Wendy, Boise, ID; one granddaughter, Caitlin Griffith; one brother, Richard Moon, Topeka, KS.She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Celebration Community Church in care of the mortuary.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions the family will schedule a memorial service and inurnment at a later date.
