Obituary
Carol Billinger age 74, of Victoria, Kansas died Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at her home. She was born January 10, 1947, at Hays, Kansas to Leo and Hubertine (Urban) Stramel. She married Gilbert Billinger Jr. on April 22, 1967 at Pfeifer, Kansas.
Carol was Postmaster at Pfeifer, Kansas for 29 years and a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, her family, grandchildren and a great grandchild. Carol grew up in Pfeifer attended the Pfeifer Grade School and was a 1965 graduate of Victoria High School. Carol was a member of The Basilica of St. Fidelis, St. Fidelis Daughters of Isabella, St. Fidelis Christian Mothers, Holy Cross Charities Inc. Board member, and a former member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She and her husband, Gilbert have spent many years over seeing the Holy Cross Catholic Church and grounds.
Survivors include her husband, Gilbert Billinger Jr., of the home; her children, Beth Brungardt and husband, Dale, of Ellsworth, KS; Cheryl Berens, of Victoria, KS; Colleen Carlson and husband, Rick, of Burdett, KS; Joe Billinger and wife, Jill, of Victoria, KS; Jim Billinger and wife, Emily, Pfeifer, KS; her 19 grandchildren, Ryan Brungardt and wife, Kyrsten; Kaley, Jeanae, and Jaret Brungardt; Jenna, Tia, Devin, and Hogan Berens; Regan, Jaden, Alec, and Brady Carlson; Zack, Dylan and Garret Billinger; Leo, Henry, William and Maria Billinger; her great grandchild, Quinton Brungardt; her brother, Gary Stramel and wife, Arlene, Hays, KS; her sisters, Bernie Strong and husband, Merv, Littleton, CO; Kathy Pryor and husband, Wayne, Colorado springs, CO; Janice Seib and husband, Don, Munjor, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Les Stramel and his wife, Cathy; her sister, JoAnn Billinger.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pfeifer, Kansas, with Fr. Curtis Carlson O.F.M. Cap. and Fr. Regie Urban officiating.
A vigil service and rosary with the St. Fidelis Daughters of Isabella and St. Fidelis Christian Mothers joining will be at 7:00 P.M. Friday, at Clines-Keithley Mortuary, 412 Main Street, Victoria, Kansas 67671.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. Friday, at Clines-Keithley Mortuary, Victoria, Kansas and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Saturday, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pfeifer, Kansas.
The family suggests memorial made payable to: Holy Cross Charities Inc. in care of Clines Mortuary, Victoria, Kansas.
