C. John Knoll

C. John Knoll (Clarence John Knoll, Jr.) of Hays, Kansas was born March 19, 1950, and died August 16, 2025, at the age of 75. He was born in Hays, Kansas to Clarence and Alberta Knoll.

Above all else, John loved his family more than life itself. His wife, sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the most important things in his life. He never missed a chance to attend dance recitals, softball and baseball games, karate ceremonies, and graduations.

He spent his life with a passion for horses and cattle. Whether it was working as a cowboy, traveling for horse shows or raising cattle.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Norleen, sons: Joe (Dani) of Ellis, and Michael (Ashley) of Topeka. Grandchildren: Daylee, Jordon, Billie, Reagan, Isabella, Braidon, and Andrew; and his great-grandchildren: Ellie and Ellianna.

John was preceded by his parents: Clarence and Alberta Knoll; and his brothers: Joseph and Jerome Knoll.

Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church – Hays, 215 West 13th Street Hays, Kansas 67601. Interment will follow the services in the parish cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a parish vigil service beginning at 7:00 PM at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory – Brock’s Chapel, 2509 Vine Street Hays, Kansas 67601.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to: The Cancer Council of Ellis County and/or The Humane Society of the High Plains, in care of the funeral chapel.
