Bryce Stropes

Bryce Stropes, age 14, of Ellis, passed away on Thursday, July 22nd in Ellis. He was born on March 28, 1996 in Russell, Kansas to Randy Stropes and Heather (Scheck) Tysver. He attended High Plains Christian School where he would have been an 8th grader.Bryce was a member of High Plains Baptist Church in Hays. He was active in the Church Youth Group and the Ellis County 4-H Shooting Club. Bryce enjoyed many activities such as Hunting, Fishing, Swimming and Frisbee Golf. He is survived by his father, Randy Stropes of Russell; his mother, Heather Tysver of Ellis; two brothers, Gage and Dru Stropes of Ellis; his grandparents, Faith Ann Scheck of Ellis and Bill and Ruth Craig of Russell; Aunts and Uncles, Andrew and Jessica Scheck of Ellis, Rebecca and Rod Augustine of Victoria, Susan and Travis Kohlrus of Ellis, and Melissa and Jim Thomas of Russell.Bryce was preceded in death by his grandfather, LeeRoy Scheck. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Ellis Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 to 1:30 Saturday at the church. Arrangements in care of Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E 17th, Ellis, KS. Memorials are suggested to the Ellis County 4-H and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
