Bernice Dreiling

Bernice A. Dreiling, age 86 of Hays, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Hays Medical Center. She was born August 29, 1927 in Hays, Kansas to Clemens " C.J ." and Catherine (Dreiling) Haas. She graduated from Girls Catholic High in 1945 and from Fort Hays State University earning a Bachelor's degree. She married Donald L. Dreiling May 22, 1948 at St. Joseph's Church in Hays.



Bernice was a longtime teacher at Kennedy Middle School where she taught Home Economics and Social Studies for 19 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a past parish council member. In her spare time she enjoyed shopping with family and friends.



She is survived by her husband, Donald of Hays; two sons, John Dreiling and wife Patricia of Austin, TX and Mike Dreiling and wife Patty of Overland Park, KS; a sister, Regina Tarpey of Alexandria, VA; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Haas and Frank Haas and four sisters, Lucy Isbell, Bertha Herrman. Angelita Bahr and Leona Haas.



Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, March 29, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.



Visitation will be Friday 6 PM - 8 PM at Brock's Funeral Home 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.



A parish vigil service and rosary will be Friday at 7 PM at the funeral home.
