Bernette Stadelman

Bernette R. Stadelman, age 77, of Ellis, Kansas passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.

She was born December 31, 1945, in Hays, Kansas to Daniel and Ida (Pfeifer) Brungardt. She married Frank Stadelman, Jr. August 31, 1968, at St. Joseph’s Church in Hays.

Bernette had quite the green thumb, she loved flowers and gardening, as well as cooking for her family, watching the Kansas City Royals and Fort Hays State University sports. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Ellis.

She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Doreen Wente, Quinter; twin sister, Jeanette (Jim) Wellbrock, Arvada, CO; twin brothers, Harold Brungardt, Aurora, CO; and Darrell Brungardt, Honolulu, HI; granddaughter, Shawna Deines and great grandson, James Howard, both of Quinter, KS; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and son in law, Michael Wente.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 31, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday 5 PM - 8 PM and Friday 9 AM - 9:30 AM all at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

A combined Rosary and Parish Vigil will be Thursday at 7 PM at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Mary's Church or St. Mary's School.
