Anna Luea

Anna Marie Luea, age 95 of Ellis, died Monday, April 6 at the Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney. She was born on March 9, 1914 in Ellis County, Kansas to George and Mary (Rupp) Wiesner. She married Paul J. Luea on June 4, 1940 in Ellis. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella both of Ellis. Anna enjoyed bowling, sewing, crafts and gardening. She is survived by two sons; Paul Luea of North Platte, NE. and Ron Luea of Honaunau, HI.; seven daughters; Diana Doerfler of Hutchinson, Lola Luea of Wichita, Pauletta Benoit of Wichita, Doris Luea of Mansfield, TX., Sharon Hillman of WaKeeney, Debra Rohr of Wichita and Laura Ellison of Ellis; 23 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, 13 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00 - 8:00 and on Wednesday 12:00 - 1:00 all at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis. A Daughters of Isabella Rosary service will be on Wednesday at 6:30 followed by a Parish Vigil service at 7:00 all at the funeral chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Lutheran Home in WaKeeney.
