Ambrose A. Weber, age 80, of Ellis died Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Hays Medical Center. Ambrose was born on September 24, 1929 in Ellis, the son of John Sr. and Thresia (Augustine) Weber. He married Freda Dreiling on June 5, 1951 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2006. Ambrose was a Farmer and Dairyman. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Ellis VFW. He is survived by three sons; Allen and wife Kim of Ellis, Mark and wife Lisa of Ellis and Brian and wife Kimberly of Manhattan, six daughters; Susan Geist and husband Henry of Hays, Rosann Weber of Plainville, Bernie Reifschneider and husband Bruce of LaCrosse, Geri Koerner and husband Kevin of Hays, Brenda Langdon and husband Troy of Larned and Mary Hickman and husband Troy of Hays. One brother; John Weber Jr of Ellis, four sisters; Katie Eberle of Wakeeney, Anna Geist of Ellis, Thresia Aschenbrenner of Brewster and Helen Pfeifer of Ellis; 21 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Freda, two sons; Ambrose Jr. and Bernard. Three brothers; Ig, Joseph and Mike and two sisters; JoAnna and Josephine. Services will be 10:00 Monday, November 9th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Visitation will be on Sunday 6:00 - 8:00 with a Knights of Columbus rosary service at 6:30 followed by a parish wake service at 7:00 all at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Church, St. Mary's School or The Neuropathy Association.
