Alvina Wierman

Alvina G. Wierman, age 96, of Ellis, formerly of Hays, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Ellis Good Samaritan Center. She was born on September 3, 1912 in Schoenchen, KS. to Theobald and Anna (Stecklein) Bieker. She married William H. Wierman on October 7, 1936 in McCracken, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1966.She was a homemaker and worked with the Senior Companion program for 27 years. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays and also a former member of the Altar Society and Christian Mothers.She is survived by three sons, William T. Wierman and Terrance J. Wierman of Hays, Don L. Wierman of Forrest Lake, MN., a daughter, Sheila A. Sander of Woodward, OK., a brother, Edward Bieker of Colorado Springs, CO., 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Billy Joe Wierman, infant grandson, Michael Wierman, granddaughter, Missy Wierman, three brothers, Laverne, Celestine and Clarence, three sisters, Josephine, Florentine and Blanche, a son-in-law, Ron Sander.Funeral services will be at 2:30 P.M. Saturday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays. Private family burial will be at a later date in the McCracken Catholic Cemetery.Visitation will be Saturday 12:00 P.M. - 2:30 P.M.Memorial contributions are suggested for Immaculate Heart of Mary Church or Masses.
