Walter "Chuck" Ross

Walter Charles "Chuck" Ross, age 65, of Hays, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 at Hays Medical Center. He was born July 1, 1947 in Hays, Kansas to Walter C. and Philomena (Fisher) Ross. He graduated from St. Joseph Military Academy in 1965 and from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelors in Business. He married Deborah J. Flagler on January 9, 1971 in WaKeeney, Kansas.

He was a Public Accountant for Robert L. Wolf Accounting in Hays. He served in the US Army Reserve for six years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Council Knights of Columbus Council #1325. He enjoyed fishing and KU Basketball.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah of Hays; two sons, Jason Ross of San Diego and Brian Ross of Hays; a daughter, Michelle Grospitch and husband Eric and children, Dylan and Lauryn all of Lenexa, KS; as well as three sisters, Jean Ross of Hays, Marilyn Wasinger of Wichita and Patricia Needy of St. George, UT.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Greg Ross and two sisters, Betty Pfeifer and Shirley Schartz.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday 4:00 PM 8:00 PM and Monday 9:00 AM 9:30 AM all at Brocks North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

A St. Joseph Council Knights of Columbus Rosary will be Sunday at 6:00 P.M. followed by a parish vigil service at 6:30 PM all at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph Parish Elevator Fund or Masses.
