Shirley Scholl

Shirley Marie Scholl, age 75 of WaKeeney, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013 in WaKeeney. She was born July 19, 1938 in Potsdam, NY to Harvey G. and Emeretta (Hooper) Jandreau. She married Edward Albertus Scholl on August 22, 1963 in Denver, CO. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1998.

Shirley had worked as a waitress, a daycare provider and mainly a foster grandparent working for the Fort Hays State University Foster Grandparents Program. She enjoyed her family, gardening, fishing, baking and crocheting.

She is survived by a son, Edward A. Scholl and wife Deborah of Temple, TX; four daughters, Diane M. Payton of Topeka, KS, Deetta M. Wilson of Ellis, KS, Donna M. Thomas of WaKeeney and Edith I. Kester and husband Reid of WaKeeney; five brothers, Harvey Jr. of FL, James of NY, Douglas of FL; Steven of NY and Gerald of NY; five sisters, Patricia McHenry of NY, Barbara Page of NY, Donna Cooper of NY, Emma Gilliland of OH and Mary Etta Gilbo of FL; seven grandchildren, Christopher Hardman, Joseph Schuckman, Jason Schuckman, Alicia Zeman, Karson Thomas, Kurtis Thomas, and James Harper as well as eight great grandchildren, Jacob Branch, Taylor Hardman, Emren Rush, Joseph Zeman, Kyle Thomas, Myla Thomas, Brinlee Zeman and Kollin Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Mungavin and a son-in-law, Melvin Stefan.

Services will be 3 PM Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church in WaKeeney. Cremation will take place after the funeral service with private family inurnment at a later date.

Visitation will be Tuesday 6 PM 8 PM and Wednesday 2 PM 2:45 PM at Christ the King Catholic Church in WaKeeney.

A parish vigil service will be Tuesday at 7 PM at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Trego Community Grade School or Hospice Services Inc. of Phillipsburg, KS in her name and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family by guest book at www.keithleyfuneralchapels.com or email keithley@ruraltel.net
