Obituary



Lucas G. Ernst, 35, of Ellis, KS, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in Ellis. He was born on August 9, 1982 in WaKeeney, KS to Greg Kevin and Gayle (Gilpin) Ernst.

Lucas will be remembered as a kind, friendly, social butterfly. He had a big heart for children and animals. He was a friend to many and he will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his father, Greg Kevin Ernst and his mother, Gayle Ernst both of Ellis; two sons, Trinten Houser Ernst and Matthew Daine Ernst of Ellis; three brothers, Tyler Watson and his wife Chasity of Ellis, Charlie Martin and his wife Yi-Tan of Phoenix, AZ, Shane Buchholz and his wife Amy of Peoria, AZ; nieces and nephews, Haven and Annistyn Watson of Ellis, Jordan Berry and her husband David of Wakeeney, and Andria Buchholz of Hays; great nieces and nephews, Wyatt, Roe and Nova of Wakeeney; paternal grandmother, Mary Rose Reinhardt and her husband Don of Russell, KS; Uncle: Joe Ernst and his wife Tessa Meis of Wilson, KS, Aunt: Kaylynn Ickler and her husband Steve of Russell, Aunt: Carla Stiles and her husband Michael of Hill City, KS, Uncle: Tom Kacsanek of Glendale, AZ and a loving extended family.

Lucas is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carl and Lila Gilpin; paternal grandfather, Lionel Ernst; two aunts, Linda Bird and Julie Honas.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 1-3:00 PM at Brocks-Keithley Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 2509 Vine St., Hays, KS 67601.
