Laura Lee Rozean

Laura Lee Rozean, 83 died Tues. Aug. 13, 2013 at the Redbud Village in Plainville. She was born on Nov. 10, 1929 in Edmond, Ks. to Alexander "Glen" and Lucille (Matthews) Griffith. She married Wade Allen Rozean on Aug. 18, 1946 in Norton, Ks. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2003.

She was a dietary cook at the Plainville Hospital for 12 years. She was active in the VFW Auxiliary, The Dorcus Club and also the First Christian Church in Plainville. She enjoyed working with the children in Bible School and also was a Boy Scout leader. She enjoyed bowling and was still bowling at the age of 83. She spent many years sewing and quilting for her family. She was a great cook. Kept her family of 10 fed on next to nothing. She was also a cake decorator. She made all of her childrens wedding and birthday cakes.

Survivors include: 3 sons, Doug Rozean and wife Carol, Hays; Robert Rozean and wife Antoniette, Lindale, Texas; Paul Rozean and wife Joan, Hays. 3 daughters, Deanna Miller and husband Frank, Victoria; Dorthea (Jo) Rozean, Denver, Colo.; Bonnie Kendall, Vidor, Texas. Daughter in law Lisa Rozean of Hays. One brother, Gayle (Harpo) Griffith and wife Marsha; SanAntonio, Texas. One sister, Samantha Smith and husband Roger, Littleton, Colo. 22 Grandchildren, 45 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great, Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sons, Charles (Chuck) Rozean and Wade Jr. Rozean. Brothers, Gene Griffith, Dallas, Texas; Therwin Griffith, Amarilla, Texas, Gary Griffith Thornton, Colo.; 3 grandchildren, Trilby Rozean, William Rome and Leslie Brown.

Services will be held at l0:30am, Aug. 17, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Plainville. Burial will be at the Plainville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm on Friday, Aug. 16 at Brocks North Hill Chapel and at 9 to 10:30am on Sat. Aug. 17 at the First Christian Church in Plainville.

Memorials are suggested to the Rooks County Health Center, Plainville, Ks. or Hospice of HaysMed.
