John Mccabe

John F. McCabe, 85, Hays, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Hays Medical Center.



He was born Dec. 3, 1928, in Zurich to William and May (Mahoney) McCabe. He married Annabelle Pfannenstiel in 1975.



He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, Sons of the American Revolution and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.



He was an avid pilot and enjoyed his airplanes.



Survivors include his wife, Hays; two stepsons, Thomas Wasinger and wife, Christine, Hays, and John Wasinger and wife, Theresa, Victoria; many half brothers and sisters; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Howard and Dean McCabe.
