Ivone Yosett Martinez

Ivone Yosett Martinez, 25 of Garden City, Kansas died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in Hays, Kansas. She was born December 31, 1986 in Tasquillo, Hidalgo, Mexico, daughter of Ricardo and Maura (Martinez) Martinez.

Ivone moved to Garden City, Kansas to lived with her parents at the age of 14 years old. She attended school and graduated from Garden City High School and Garden City Community College. She was in her third year at Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas majoring in education. She had worked at Walmart in Garden City and was employed at Hays Walmart. She attended St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed basketball, soccer, was a animal lover, listening to music, dancing and spending time with her brother and family members. She was preceded in death by her grandmother and grandfather..

Survivors includes her parents, Ricardo and Maura Martinez of Garden City, Two brothers, Miguel Angel Rodriguez and Richard Martinez of Garden City; one sister: Carolina Rodriguez of Garden City, Kansas. Grandparents, Emilia Martinez and Facundo Martinez both of Mexico. Several uncles and aunts, nephews and cousins .

A private family Mass was held Saturday, November 4th at the Comeau Catholic Campus Center. Local arrangements under the care of Brocks North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City with burial to follow at Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, Kansas.

Friends may call Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church.
