George Erbert

George Erbert, age 78, of Ellis, passed away Friday, May 20th at the Ellis Good Samaritan Center. He was born July 21, 1932 in Ellis County, Kansas to Bernard and Anna (Dreiling) Erbert. He married Evelyn "Punkie" Helget on November 9, 1957. She preceded him in death in 2002.He was a plant operator for Mid-West Energy. He was a member and past president of the Ellis Rotary and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis.He is survived by two sons, Steve Erbert and wife Brenda (Kisner) of Ellis and Tony Erbert and wife Virginia (Fisher) of McPherson, KS; a daughter, Tracy Harris and husband Roy of Hutchinson, KS; a brother, Bob Erbert and wife Althea of Littleton, Co; two sisters, Paula Kroeger and husband V.J. "Slats" of Hays and Mary Ann Wing and husband Dale also of Hays; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Erbert Jr.Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday at Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E. 17th Ellis, KS. 67637. Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ellis.Contributions are suggested to the Ellis Rotary Club.
