Edward Leiker

Edward P. Leiker. age 84, of Munjor, died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Hays Medical Center. He was born May 4, 1929 in rural Munjor, Kansas to Peter B. and Susan (Befort) Leiker. He was a graduate of Hays High School. He married Pearl Mary Herrman May 22, 1950 in Liebenthal. He was a farmer and oilman all of his life. He was a member St. Francis of Assisi Church in Munjor. He was also an Army veteran as a Sgt. in the motor pool. Survivors include his wife Pearl Mary Leiker of the home, two sons; Eugene Leiker of Hays, KS. and John Leiker and wife Deanna of Munjor, KS; three daughters, Judy Leiker and husband Terry Farley of Sydney, Australia, Joan Haddock and husband Jack of Munjor, KS.; Christine Johnson and husband Dennis of Hays, KS. ; 12 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Four brothers, Alfred P. Leiker, Aloysius P. Leiker, A. P. Leiker, Alexander P. Leiker and two sisters, Loretta Leiker and Marcella Staab, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 26th at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Munjor. Burial will follow in church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 5 PM 8 PM and Monday 9 AM 9:30 AM all at Brocks North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS. 67601. A St. Francis of Assisi Christian Mothers rosary will be Sunday at 6:00 PM followed by a parish vigil service at 6:30 PM all at the funeral home.
