Connie Zimmerman

Hays, Kansas - Constantine J. 'Connie' Zimmerman, age 92, died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Hays Medical Center Hays, Kansas. He was born September 15, 1924, in Schoenchen, Kansas to John and Rose (Dreher) Zimmerman. He married Fern Katherine (Oelkers) on August 5, 1948 in LaCrosse, Kansas. She preceded him in death on October 23, 2004.

He was a farmer and rancher. He grew up on the farm west of Schoenchen, Kansas and was a graduate of Schoenchen High School. Connie enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening, and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Zimmerman and wife, Shirley, Amarillo, TX; Jayme Zimmerman and wife, Leann, Hays, KS; one daughter, Valerie Collins and husband, Bernie, Grand Junction, CO; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Schaeffer, Jesse (Bria) Zimmerman, Casey (Molly) Zimmerman, Bailey Zimmerman, Wendy Zimmerman, Riley Zimmerman, Harley Zimmerman; three great grandchildren, Lyndi Zimmerman, Emery Zimmerman and Finley Zimmerman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; nine brothers, Jacob, Carl, Fred, Celly, Seraphine, Jerry, Julius, Clarence and Henry Zimmerman.

Services are at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Hays, Kansas. A private family inurnment will be at St. Anthony Cemetery Schoenchen, Kansas.

A vigil service will be at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, at Cline's-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, at Cline's-Keithley Mortuary of Hays and from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
