Bertha Bieker

Bertha (Erbert) Bieker, age 88, of Ellis, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society, Hays. She was born September 9, 1923 in Hays to Englebert and Regina (Geschwentner) Erbert. She married Albert Bieker on November 16, 1943 in Ellis.



Bertha was a homemaker and had worked at St. Mary's School as a cooks helper and also at Rich's IGA also of Ellis. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ellis. She enjoyed quilting and spending time on the farm



She is survived by her husband, Albert of The Good Samaritan Society, Hays; three sons, Richard, James and Michael Bieker all of Ellis; a brother, Joe Erbert of Ellis; two sisters, Mary Kuhn of Hays and Shirley Pitner of Atwood. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Brandie Bieker of Hays, Christopher Bieker of Lawrence, Kimberly Bieker of Topeka and David Bieker of Bazine as well as two great grandchildren, Abby and Laura Bieker of Lawrence.



She was preceded in death by two sons, David and Robert Bieker and a sister.



Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will follow services in St. Mary's cemetery.



Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E. 17th Ellis, KS. 67637. A parish vigil service will be at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
