Arlen Newell

Arlen Newell, 62, of Versailles, KY. died Monday, March 28 at his home. He was born July 3, 1948 in Hays, KS. to Eloise J. and Frances (Goetz) Newell of Hays, KS. He was a retired sales manager for Swedish Match, a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era, a member of St. Leo Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus of Versailles. Arlen was also an avid fisherman. In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include his daughters, Bonnie (Kenneth) Johns of Versailles, Leticia Newton of Mt. Eden, KY, a son, Jeremy (Shiloh) Newell of Richmond, four grandchildren, Lydia, Lorelai, Batelise, Jareth, and two sisters, Joan (Richard) Palmer of Haysville, KS and Mary Newell of Hays, KS. A funeral Mass will be 11:00 am, Friday, April 1 at St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Rose Crest Cemetery. Private family services will be held locally at a later date with arrangements in care of Brock's North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS. 67601.Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00pm, Thursday at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home followed by a Rosary service at 8:00 pm. Memorials are suggested to Knights of Columbus, 202 Stourbridge Road, Versailles, KY 40383.
