Alois Rupp

Alois W. Rupp, 76, of Hays, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Via Christi Village, Hays. He was born November 15, 1939 in Ellis, Kansas to Alois and Evelyn (Schmeidler) Rupp. He attended Ellis High School. He married Barbara Douglas on October 22, 1960 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Ellis.

He had worked for Haliburton as a truck driver and then he became a contract pumper for several oil companies including Production Drilling, A. Scott Ritchie, Mack Oil and Slawson Oil. He enjoyed watching westerns and he was a member of the Ellis Knights of Columbus and St. Marys Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Hays; two daughters, Lisa (Tony) Workman of Loveland, CO and Lora (Todd) Armbruster of Hays; two brothers, Clarence Rupp of Ellis and James (Henrietta) Rupp of Littleton, CO; two sisters, Helen Richardson of San Antonio, TX and Rose (Doug) Egger of Hays; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Rupp of Ellis; grandchildren, Zachariah (Maria) Armbruster of Grand Island, NEB, Marguerite (Yan) Stastny of Schwenningen, Germany, Shelby Workman of Loveland, CO, Cassandra Armbruster and Candra Armbruster both of Hays; and great grandchildren, Camdyn Armbruster, Prisayus Kennedy, Draxton VanEpps all of Hays, Reagan Stastny and Mila Stastny both of Schwenningen, Germany.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Norman Rupp, Anton Rupp and John Rupp.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Marys Catholic Church in Ellis with burial following in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday 6 PM 8 PM at Brocks-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

A combined rosary and vigil service will be Tuesday at 6:30 PM.

Memorials are suggested to the Ellis Knights of Columbus Hall to be used for the remodeling project.
