Almeda Stecklein

Almeda Regina (Kuhn) Stecklein, age 84, of Great Bend and a former longtime Munjor, Kansas resident, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at Great Bend Health and Rehab Center in Great Bend. She was born March 21, 1927 in Victoria, Kansas on the family farm to Joseph J. And Anna (Hammerschmidt) Kuhn. She married Nicholas "Nick" Stecklein on Feb. 4, 1961 in Victoria. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2006.



She was a homemaker, a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Munjor and she enjoyed bingo, needle work, jig saw puzzles and dancing.



She is survived by a daughter, Jolene Marie Stecklein of Great Bend; a sister, Lorene Miller of Stockton; two sisters-in-law, Otillia Kuhn of Victoria and Sylvia Stecklein of Pratt; special family friend and neighbor, Ed Richey of Great Bend as well as numerous nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her Husband, her parents, two brothers, Alfred and Edward Kuhn and a sister, Viola Popp.



Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Munjor. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery.



Visitation will be Tuesday 3:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday 8:30 A.M. - 9:30 A.M. all at Brock's North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS. 67601.



A parish vigil service will be Tuesday at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home.



Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Francis of Assisi Church or Masses and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
