Louis G. Luetters, age 83, of Ransom, Kansas passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in Hays. He was born September 13, 1936 on the family farm in southern Trego County to Francis and Josephine (Hilmes) Luetters. He was a graduate of Ransom High School. On November 22, 1960 he married Marcile Andres in Ransom.
Louis was a Cattleman and enjoyed working with livestock. He was a member and past president of the Ransom Farmers Co-Op, a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Ransom and a 3rd degree Ransom council 2352 Knights of Columbus member. Louis also served his country in the US Army for two years.
He is survived by his wife, Marcile of Ransom; three sons, David Luetters (Carol) of Garden City, KS, Duane Luetters (Tari) of Ransom, KS and Daniel Luetters (Kristi) of Hays, KS; three brothers, John Luetters (Willa Sue) of Hutchinson, KS, Gene Luetters (Claudia) of Salina, KS and Jerome Luetters (Marilyn) of Hays, KS; four sisters, Rozanne Veeder of Dodge City, KS, Janice Houdshell (Wayne) of Dodge City, KS, Carolyn Maska (Jake) of Hays, KS and Linda Hess (Dennis) of Great Bend, KS; and seven grandchildren, Kyle Luetters, Rebecca Netherton, Dustin Luetters, Jody Reynolds, Ashlyn Luetters, Luke Luetters and Brett Luetters as well as five great grandchildren, Ben and Maeve Netherton, Nora Luetters, Paisley and Cooper Luetters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vernon Luetters and Thomas Luetters and wife Ruth Luetters; a brother-in-law, Merton Veeder and a sister-in-law, Judy Luetters.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Ransom. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
A Rosary will be led by the Ransom Knights of Columbus at 10:30 AM Saturday at the church.
