VICTORIA – W. Pat Dreiling, 86 of Victoria, KS died Sunday January 7, 2018 at Via Christi Village, Hays, KS.  He was born July 21, 1931 in Vincent, KS to Alfred and Ellen (Baier) Dreiling.  He graduated from Victoria High School, served in the US Army, and attended Fort Hays State University.  

He married Theresa Lang on October 16, 1951 and farmed in the Pfeifer, KS area until relocating to Victoria in 1964.  Pat is survived by his wife, Theresa of Victoria, daughter Carolyn (Bernie) Berens of Salina, KS, and three sons Paul (Judy) of Victoria, KS Keith (Linda) of Topeka, KS and Craig (Mary Ann) of Wichita, KS, thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one sister, Mary Ellen Williamson of Port Charlotte, FL. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Dreiling. 

Pat began his insurance career with the Meckenstock Insurance Agency in 1965 and then in 1967 joined Farmers Alliance Mutual Insurance Company until he retired in 1995.  Pat’s insurance career included claims adjusting, marketing, and insurance education in 12 states.  Pat was a Certified Insurance Counselor and active in the Kansas Association of Insurance Agents.  

Pat was an active parishioner of the Basilica of St. Fidelis Catholic Parish throughout his life including 6 years on the Parish Council and 24 years on the City of Victoria Planning Commission.  

His retirement years included maintaining the Basilica of St. Fidelis Parish grounds, serving on the Senior Advisory Committee of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, and driving cars for several Hays, KS car dealerships.  

Visitation will be Friday January 12th from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM with a Victoria Daughters of Isabella Rosary at 6:30 PM and a combined parish Vigil and Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Saturday visitation will be 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM all at the Basilica of St. Fidelis Catholic Church Victoria, KS.  

Funeral Mass will be Saturday, January 13th at 10:00 AM at the Basilica of St. Fidelis Catholic Church Victoria, KS. Burial with military honors will follow in the St. Fidelis Cemetery.
