Carol Marie Hotz - Hays, Kansas, age 82, died Sunday, August 20, 2017, at The Willow House in Hays, Kansas. She was born July 16, 1935, on the family farm north east of Bogue, Kansas to Frank and Ellen (Lundberg) Holsman. She married Eugene D. Hotz on March 28,1959, in Hays, Kansas.
Carol was a homemaker. She also was a business teacher at FHSU for a few years. She was a graduate of Stockton High School and a member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. She received her Bachelors Degree in Business and Master Degree from Fort Hays State University, then completed her Doctorate in Education at Kansas State. Carol absolutely loved music. She sang in the FHSU Choir for a few years and in a quartet that performed in Hays and surrounding areas. She was avid lover of animals and supported many organization to help against animal cruelty.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Hotz, of the home; one son, Steven Hotz, Liberty, MO; one daughter, Susan Kreutzer and husband, Roger, Hays, KS; three grandchildren, Hayden, Collyn, and Emily Kreutzer; four nephews and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kenneth Holsman and one sister, Alpha Bondy.
Services are 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Cline's-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601. A graveside service will be at 1:30 P.M. Thursday at The Stockton Cemetery Stockton, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Cline's-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.
Memorial to the (ASPCA) American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
